Have you ever wanted to hand cut dovetails? Or perhaps you would like to incorporate hand planes into your work. Hand tools will add a new dimension to your work. If you are new to woodworking, hand tools are a great way to start, as you will learn important lessons on reading the grain and the differences between wood species. This weekend class will get you started cutting dovetails and more. You will learn how to properly use a saw, chisels, block plane, and low angle jack plane. This combination of tools will allow you to add fine touches to your furniture pieces. In this class being taught by Fine Woodworking podcast co-host Vic Tesolin, you will learn through various exercises and by making a simple dovetail box.
